Pork is 'what's in,' says People magazine

Pork is among foods redefining 2008, according to People magazine's February Style Watch.

"The magazine notes that pork is 'what's in,' especially when it's used in unexpected ways," said Ceci Snyder, assistant vice president of consumer marketing for the National Pork Board.

In People, Kara Nielsen of the San Francisco-based Center for Culinary Development mentions Le Pigeon restaurant in Portland, Ore., which serves apricot cornbread with bacon bits and maple ice cream.

"This shows the Pork Checkoff's efforts are making a positive difference," Snyder said.
